Today we want to tell you about the Zalabí Valley — our home 🌿

Located in the Guadix region, between Sierra de Baza and Sierra Nevada — home to Mulhacén, the highest peak in mainland Spain — this is not just where we operate, it’s why we exist. Snow-covered mountains just a few kilometers from our fields create a landscape few expect in southern Spain.

At altitudes ranging from 800 to 2,000 meters, the valley creates extreme natural conditions: strong day–night temperature shifts, cold winters, and long, dry summers.

These conditions are not a limitation — they are the key. They push plants to adapt, producing essential oils that are more concentrated, complex, and expressive.

Combined with mineral-rich soils and controlled water scarcity, this results in aromatic profiles with depth and character that are difficult to replicate elsewhere.

The Zalabí Valley has long been an agricultural oasis in an otherwise arid region — making cultivation possible where it otherwise wouldn’t be.

At Zalabí, we don’t just source — we grow, distill, and control every step to ensure full traceability from seed to final ingredient, reflecting not just a place but a defined origin and production system built on quality, transparency, and long-term sustainability at its core. 🌱
